SPRING Homemade Play Dough

As promised here is my contribution to the Busy Bag Party.  We love homemade play dough and we love spring.  So why not combine the two?

Spring Homemade Play Dough

SPRING Homemade Play Dough

I picked up all the ingredients I needed to make 4 batches of my favorite homemade play dough and some green food coloring.  (I like the specialty food coloring sold in the cake decorating section.)  Little M and I spent all morning mixing up the play dough.  Once the play dough was cool I split it into 7 sections and bagged them up.

In December I added a few Christmas accessories and the kids had a blast with it.  What better way to make spring play dough then to add a few spring time accessories?  The dollar store sells bouquets of silk flowers.. for a dollar.  So I picked up a few bouquets and cut the stems short.  I found bags of insects in the party section of Target.  (I included the recipe .)

These butterflies (sold by the bouquet with the silk flowers) were by far my favorite find. The little umbrellas are pretty fun too. 😉

What a beautiful spring play dough garden.

Enjoy these other play dough activities… play dough animal press and play dough sensory play.

What a great idea! I just brought this over to a friend’s house. My daughter and my friend’s son played with the spring play dough and loved it. I found some little rocks too and liked building little paths in the dough and then connecting them.

I will be doing this for a busy bag group at the end of the month. I love that this will be ideal for different age groups 🙂
