New Years with the KIDS!!!
How will you celebrate New Years? Â Will you attend a fancy party and get all dressed up? Â Will you be cuddled up on the couch with your love? Â Will you have a sitter or ring in the New Year with the kids? Â We are combining all of those ideas! Â Hubs will be smoking a pork shoulder to make super delish pulled pork sandwiches. Â A few close friends and family will attend the “party” for which I will get all dressed up! Â I have been saving up ideas for the kids… want to see what I’ve found?
These coloring sheets from Activity Village are so much fun!!! Â I plan to print out a few choices to lay out on table along with colored pencils.
I love the idea of using these home made clocks to countdown with the kids. Â I especially love that Kaboose suggests using firework markers to set the time you will countdown to (9pm sounds much better than midnight!).
I saw this idea on Pinterest a while back and have been searching for it ever since. Â Hooray, I found it! Â The idea is that you have an activity planned for each hour. Â The Dating Divas have some really great New Years ideas. Â Including an “All about Me” Time Capsule. Â (I was able to copy the print out for the Time Capsule and change the 2010 to 2011.)
Well, I’m a little behind on reading, but I love these ideas and will pin them for next year. We celebrated at home with the kids but since my kids are 1 and 3, we celebrated at noon on New Year’s Eve with Chinese food– since it was midnight in China. We also had a dance party and made handprints with numbers to practice countdown backwards from 10-1. It was a great day and my husband and I pooped out about 10 pm.
