Letter of the week ~ Q ~ Quarter Stamping

This letter of the week brought about a little art experiment.  When I asked M and M if they wanted to paint with quarters they both shouted “NO”!  It’s a pretty unusual thing for them to pass up painting of any kind, but we have done quite a bit of painting this week.  It took me a few minutes but I came up with an alternative plan.  It didn’t work quite as well as I had hoped, but it was a neat experiment anyway.

what you need: Letter Q ~ quarters ~ stamp pads ~ glue ~ sharpie

I glued the Q onto white paper and outlined it with a sharpie so it would show up better.  I put the quarters, Q and stamp pads on the table.  M and M dove right in.  All I said was “Quarter starts with Q.”

They pressed the quarters.

And rolled the quarters.

The marks the quarters left were pretty faint, but our stamp pad is old.  It worked much better after I added a little water.
Big M asked if I would put the quarters in with his stamps so he could use them again next time they stamp.
