This homemade Valentine card for kids originally appeared on January 13, 2012.

Valentine’s Day is going to be so much fun this year!  The Valentine cards we made to hand out at M and M’s schools turned out so cute, but I just couldn’t stop with those.  We have a group of neighborhood kids that have become regulars in our backyard.  I really want to give them extra special Valentine cards.

These adorable I Spy Valentine cards are not just cards… they are a Valentines game!

To make this search-and-find Valentine I started by taking a walk on our street.  I took about 20 pictures, trying to capture as many sections of the street as possible.  The kids that will be recieving these are ages 5-10 so I did my best to make them challenging.  It would be very easy to modify them to be a good fit for younger kids (just make the pictures more obvious).  I used Picasa to create a 4×6 collage.  Then I moved them over to PicMonkey and added the text.  I printed them onto photo paper (but I think next time I’ll just order them to be printed for me).

The directions for the game were really easy.

Each time you spy
a match place a
sticker on the picture.
You’ll have to look extra
close to spy these special places.

After printing, and cutting them out I used a glue stick to attach a set of directions to card stock that is just a little bigger than the picture.  I used the glue stick to attach the stickers too.  (Just a dab for the stickers so they will be easy to remove when it’s time to play!)

Normally I am a pretty patient person, but these are so cute…. I don’t know if I can wait until Valentine’s Day to hand out these Valentine Cards!  (See what torture I put myself through just for you! 😉 )

Although, I love the cute V-day cards your kids made for their class…this would have been great for your kids class too. Just take pictures around the school or their classroom. Super fun!!
