PRINCESS PARTY missing slipper game and royal crown activity

Now that Little M is getting older, I was determined to add games to this princess party.  I did a little digging and found 3 games/activities that were so much fun I had a hard time not jumping in myself.

Cinderella’s lost slipper

I don’t remember where I found the idea for this, maybe on a birthday list generated by a party site.  Shame on me for not bookmarking it!  I knew I wouldn’t need to save it because this game is SO simple.

My plan was to visit our local thrift store and pick out small, women, high-heel shoes.  I was going to bring them home and spray paint them with a sparky silver.  What luck when I found this perfect Cinderella heel!!!

what you need: high heel shoe (or kid’s dress up shoe)

While my hubby hid the slipper (in a place I already decided on), I read the kids a birthday book.  Don’t worry I’ll share a whole list of birthday books on Friday’s Book Review.

I showed the kids the one slipper and told them that the other slipper was lost somewhere in the house.  Um. . .the only rule was that they were not to open any closed doors.  Then I sent them of on a glass slipper search!  After the party died down to a few family members, my niece came to me and asked if she could find the glass slipper again.  What more can you ask of a game then for it to welcome a repeat performance?

Crowns fit for a Princess (or a Prince)

I came across this project a while back and started saving toilet paper rolls. . .oh wait I always save toilet paper rolls!  Lilla A has this crown activity.  Look around her site while you are there, it’s very cool.

what you need: toilet paper rolls ~ tempera paint ~ hole punch ~ stickers ~ foam stickers ~ elastic

Little M painted the toilet paper rolls a week before the party.
Before the party I drew a crown type line around the middle each roll.  I cut on the line (kid scissors worked best).  Each roll made two colorful crowns.  I set out stickers and form stickers before the party.  As the kids arrived I shuttled them over to make their very own crown.
As they finished up I measured a piece of elastic to fit their head (don’t forget that the crown is in the middle of their head!) Two simple knots, just inside the crown. . .and VIOLA instant royalty.

The last game was so cool!  KISS THE FROG beanbag toss!
