Letter S – Swirls

Yesterday whirled by and unfortunately I wasn’t able to get the Letter S posted.  Now it would be very kind of you to pretend that you checked back through the day,  desperately awaiting the letter of the week.  No?  Well here it is, just in case!

what you need: Letter S ~ toilet paper rolls ~ paint

Letter S -- Painting Swirls

Cut a few toilet paper rolls up the side.  Roll them up, pressing along the way to get a good curve.

Prep the Letter S (print it out, cut it out and glue it to a piece of construction paper).  Fill a plastic container or paper plate with paint.

Have your little one press the roll into the paint and then onto the paper.  TIP:  The swirl shows up best if they press at the top.

I thought they looked sort of like snails, which Little M loves.  She had other ideas (surprise, surprise) and ended up steam rolling all of the pretty swirls.  Good thing I’m quick with the camera.

Clearly M is very advanced — Steamroller starts with the letter “S”!

What a great activity! Also, now I can sleep at night knowing that the activity for the Letter S has been posted — thank you!! 🙂
