Kids are great helpers (and rascals) in the kitchen and can easily be involved in the process. Your child would be willing to do all the rinsing, grating and cutting work you kindly delegate as long as you keep it playful.

These two recipes are so easy and can be basically made in 15 minutes. They are perfect for breakfast or an afternoon dessert with the whole family.

Either of these recipes is fast and fun and involves having dirty hands. In the same time they are quick to make and require no special preparations.

Let your child crack the eggs, beat them together or mix the cookie dough by hand and form cookies of their own.

This simple exercise will enable them to experience the food and learn more rapidly about ingredients and consistency. All this make them a good reason to go into the family’s season favorites!

Super Easy Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients for 4 cookies:
4 tbsp peanut butter
3 tbsp honey
½ cup rolled oats
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp cacao nibs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 handful of hazelnuts
1 pinch of salt

Recipe:

  1. Mix peanut butter, honey and vanilla extract in a bowl. Stir to combine.
  2. Add the flour, oats, baking powder and salt and stir until a thick sticky mixture.
  3. Add the cacao nibs and stir again.
  4. With wet hands split the dough into 4 parts and form a ball. Press it slightly into cookie size.
  5. Chop the hazelnuts roughly on a cutting board and sprinkle the cookies.
  6. Place the cookies into a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until golden.
