Camp Mom: Glow Stick Pool Fun

Yeah Tara! This Camp Mom idea is one that makes me wish I had a ton of glow sticks on hand… and a pool. 😉

If you’re on Pinterest, you’ve surely seen the post about using glow sticks in the bath.  We do it often & it’s always a fun time.  We call it the “Disco Bath”.

Basically, you crack a bunch of glow sticks, throw them in the tub and turn off the lights.  Watch the fun ensue!  Brayden loves to shake them for fun crazy light shows, and move them from one of the end of the tub to the other.

For the 4th of July we took it to a whole new level.  We were visiting friends & were not going to be able to see the fireworks from their house.  As a treat we let the kids stay up late enough for it to be completely dark and then turned all the pool/deck lights off.  (This would be a good place for a warning.  You should be confident in the swimming of the kids involved & make sure you have plenty of adults on hand to watch the kids.  We had 4 adults to 3 kids).

For our baths, as well as this, I always buy the tubes of glow bracelets at Michaels.  They look like this.  The ones at Michaels have 15 in each package and are about $1 a package.  For this night I had a package for each kid.

We played for a long time & it was a hit with the kids.  Lots of throwing, diving & waving around.  They loved it!
